Creativity with Chroma Key Technology

At the STEM Shoppe this week, we learned about some of the technology that goes into movie making and photography. Using a green screen as a backdrop to film actors or take photos gives an editor the ability to transport the subject anywhere in the world! This incredible technology, known as chroma key, can identify a color (such as green) and replace it with a new background. As we experimented with and learned more about this technology at the STEM Shoppe, we applied what we learned and transported ourselves to incredible locations!

Understanding technology opens new doors of exploration. As we integrate technology with creativity, we engage several parts of our brain and stretch to grow and learn more. Our students develop a love for learning and discovering as we engage in activities that challenge them to think creatively and critically. Our adventurous and creative photos were created with the green screen by applying the techniques we learned and using the technology that we are trying to understand.
